does your band's name mean anything or is it just spose to sound cool? I like it, was just wondering tho.
In short, it’s about home. More specifically though, it’s home being defined as the company you keep, not a location on a map. I know Northerner doesn’t really seem like it would have that meaning I guess, but it’s because of a song I had written prior to forming this band. I was previously in a band with a few of the members, and I had written a song for it called “Northerners.” I had been going through a relatively difficult time in my life, and a lot of people in my life decided to duck out. The lyrics to the song went; “and so it goes, that you’re the only one’s who didn’t run, when things fell short. And everyone flew south, for the winter.” They decided to stick around, instead of “flying south” when things got tough. Hence, “Northerners.” I found this name fitting for the band, since that song is about each and every one of the people in this band. I wanted to drop the “s” though, because, as cheesy as it sounds, I thought it was better to be singular rather than plural. it was no longer about the individuals anymore, but about what we were doing together. This was probably a lot longer of an explanation than you were expecting. We’re called Northerner because it sounds cool.
